InstantApps Technology
InstantApps Technology is a ‘web application player’, a new fundamental architectural concept, at the same level as the (by now ubiquitous) ‘web application server’.
Using InstantApps Technology, business analysts can develop and use custom applications without programming, and without owning and managing hardware & software platforms etc.
A ‘Web Application Player’ combines a target architecture framework, functional specifications, and most importantly a design and play environment wherein the functional specifications are rendered (or ‘played’), as well as modified (or ‘authored’). Using an application player, business functionality can be developed and maintained without traditional programming.
Business analysts, rather than programmers, can develop and maintain web-based business applications using an application player. Further, the design environment is also web-based, so that the same browser based user interface can be used to author as well as play (i.e. use) business applications.
InstantApps Metamodel

The web application player has the potential to significantly reduce application development and maintenance costs by:
-
Removing the need for programming of most business functionality, replacing it by configuration, which requires less effort and is also less error prone
-
Enabling business analysts to design and play applications, thereby capturing requirements better and reducing cycle times and re-work
-
Enabling multiple applications to be ‘played’ by the same player, reducing the cost of hardware and software platform management
-
Fostering re-use by allowing the exchange and versioning of application specifications at a higher level than code
-
Supporting collaboration by providing a unified web
