Rural ChitChat is a mobile based social network for farmers. It is unique in terms of localization of its user interface. It allows farmers to receive advice from their peers and other progress farmers. They also get relevant information like local news, weather information, yellow pages and agro news.

Most of the farmers use traditional means of communication to exchange notes, ideas and know how. This typically involves discovery of information across regions, travel to distant locations, trainings and guidance. However, these mechanisms have their disadvantages, for example,
