This data is generally spread across many databases, and is never easily accessible. It is estimated that only 40% of data in most enterprises is correct even if it is viewable. Enterprise Search allows you to search all your databases regardless of type or design, and also allows you to cleanse your data and consolidate it, without putting all the data in an unusable single database.

This is a mixture of SOA, Web 2.0 and SaaS. It is collaborative, cross platform, browser based and has a reusable architecture.
