TCS Excellence in Computer Science (TECS) Week 2011
January 3-7 2011, TRDDC, Pune
TECSWeek is organized by TCS Innovation Labs - TRDDC to bring the highest quality education in Computer Science to the most gifted young computer scientists in developing countries.
Computer Networks is the focus for this year’s TECS Week. Computer networks of various types—wired, wireless, cellular, and sensor—have become an integral part of our society. These networks carry voice, video and data traffic, and support a vast range of enterprise, entertainment and societal applications. The scale and complexity of these networks coupled with the diversity of applications they support pose significant challenges in designing network architecture and protocols that can meet the performance, security and reliability requirements of applications. This course will introduce participants to both the foundations and the applications of computer networks. In particular, it will cover topics including the architecture and protocols for the Internet, enterprise and data center networks, wireless and sensor networks, as well as network security and privacy.
